Inside the research desk

Details are useful.
Evidence makes them valuable.

The point is not to sound like we know every trader’s position. It is to make the day’s market move more understandable—and the limits of the explanation more visible.

Reported

Begin with the observation.

Establish the instrument, observation time and measurement window. A futures settlement, a broker’s CFD quote, a cash-index close and a rolling 24-hour crypto return are different things.

  • Preserve source timestamps and contract months.
  • Attribute exchange, government and market-data figures.
  • Do not present an older report as a new session.
Analysis

Then explain the mechanism.

A plausible story must survive a check of the timeline and related markets. We examine macro releases, yields, liquidity, inventory, positioning and derivatives where the data permits.

  • Explain why the mechanism could affect the asset.
  • Show what would weaken the interpretation.
  • Do not treat correlation as proof of causation.
Flow attribution

A whale needs a source.

A large futures trade does not reveal the trader’s identity or whether the trade opened exposure. An on-chain transfer is not a proven sale. A put/call ratio does not reveal a dealer’s net gamma.

  • Use a transaction hash for on-chain claims.
  • Identify the exchange and data coverage for liquidations.
  • Label dealer-position estimates as estimates.
Publication and corrections
Briefings are dated by the session they cover. On closed-market days, a report must distinguish the last traded session from fresh crypto or weekend developments. Material corrections should identify what changed and preserve the original session. If reliable evidence is unavailable, a report should say so rather than claim a complete causal account.
